| Venture Theatre’s producing artistic director Robert Wood announced the cast for My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra The Sinatra tribute, My Way, is jam-packed with memorable songs from a past era. "All of Me", "All the Way", "Fly Me to the Moon", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Love and Marriage", "Moonlight Serenade", "New York, New York", "It Was a Very Good Year", and many more hits tunes create a nostalgic, but swinging evening of entertainment! The show stars Pam Sainsbury Havig, Chas Llewellyn, Jim Patterson and Susan Kennedy Sommerfeld and runs at Venture Theatre from February 26 – March 20. My Way is directed by Robert Brian Wood, with musical direction by Carolyn Peters and choreography by Susan Sommerfeld.
Pam Havig is a veteran of the Billings theater scene, having appearing in numerous shows at Billings Studio Theatre; however, this show will be her debut for Venture Theatre. Some of her memorable roles include Nurse Ratchet in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Dulcinea in Man of La Mancha and Rosemary in Picnic. Havig is a massage/yoga therapist and owner of Perfect Balance.
Chas Llewellyn, a 2003 Billings Senior High School graduate, has been in several shows at Venture, including Last of the Boys, Angry Housewives and School House Rock. Chas is also a regular member of the Projectile Comedy Team that performs at Club Carlin on Thursday night at 8pm.
Jim Patterson is a dentist by profession, but has honed his chops in a variety of shows around Billings. Patterson enjoys performing with the Venture Unplugged Liar’s Club and the Venture Improv. He has also appeared in Boy’s Life, Mastergate and Assassins.
Susan Kennedy Sommerfeld is a multi-talented actress and vocalist. She’s starred as the lead in numerous musicals including Victor/Victoria, Chicago and Crazy for You. Susan wowed Billings’s audiences recently performing with the Billings Symphony in “Broadway Favorites.” Kennedy is a stained glass artist.
About the Show: Frank Sinatra was the very icon of cool with his classic elegance and unique, hip vocal arrangement of American musical standards. My Way celebrates the pivotal moments of Sinatra’s life which solidified his legendary status. This musical song review takes the audience from Sinatra’s early beginnings in New York during the 1940’s swing era, to the bright lights of Las Vegas with the Rat Pack in the 1960s, and to his final performances in the 1990s.
